Rosh Hashana.

Holiday

When the Ram Calls You This New Year, Will You Answer?

On Rosh Hashanah, the shofar calls on us to stop, reflect, and become aware of what needs to change. In Tai Chi, Ting Jin - listening energy - teaches us to sense subtle changes and respond with awareness.

The teaching

When the ram calls you this New Year, will you answer?

This week, Jews around the world will receive a wake-up call: the Shofar, the horn of a ram, blown repeatedly, to remind us to examine our deeds.

Its call helps us to reflect, to pay attention to what needs to change in our relationships with people, and with God. To honestly recognize how we want to move forward, in the Torah tradition.

In Tai Chi, we develop Ting Jin, a listening awareness to sense subtle changes through touch and respond before they become harmful.

Rosh Hashana and Tai Chi share a simple lesson: raise your awareness before you act. When we truly listen, we recognize the moment for change, and can respond successfully. Learn more at TorahTaiChi.com.
